How to Measure Hub Centric Rings

To choose the right hub centric ring, you need two measurements: the car hub diameter (inner size) and the wheel center bore diameter (outer size). Here's how to measure both.

1. Measuring the car hub

Measuring car hub diameter with calipers

The car hub is usually easy to measure with calipers. Measure the outer diameter of the hub โ€” the surface where the hub centric ring sits. This gives you the ring's inner diameter.

You can also find your hub size in your car's technical specifications or in our car model database.

2. Measuring the wheel center bore

The wheel center bore is best measured with a dedicated tool. The problem with regular calipers is that they usually don't fit inside the wheel to measure the bore directly.

Solution: measuring with a wedge

Preparing a cardboard wedge for measuring

If your calipers don't fit inside the wheel, you can measure the bore like this:

  1. Make a wedge-shaped piece from stiff cardboard
  2. Insert the wedge into the center bore so it touches both edges

  3. Mark the points where the wedge touches the bore edges

  4. Measure the distance between the marks โ€” this is your center bore diameter. Note: this method may have a small margin of error, but comparing with available sizes will help you identify the correct one.

3. Measuring from an old hub centric ring

If you already have old hub centric rings, you can measure the correct size directly from them! Measure the outer diameter (= wheel center bore) and inner diameter (= car hub) with calipers. This gives you both measurements at once.

4. Choosing the right hub centric ring

Once you have both measurements, the ring size is:

Wheel center bore ➜ Car hub
For example: if your wheel center bore is 73.1 mm and hub is 57.1 mm, you need ring 73.1 ➜ 57.1.
